Cranberry sauce is a bright, tangy-sweet condiment made by simmering whole cranberries with sugar and a small amount of liquid (usually water, orange juice, or a mix of both) until the berries burst and thicken into a glossy sauce. It has a vivid ruby-red color, a balance of tartness and sweetness, and a texture that can range from smooth and jammy to chunky with whole berries, depending on how much it’s cooked or mashed.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces cranberries
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup orange juice
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Dissolve sugar in orange juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in cranberries and cook until they start to pop and sauce starts to thicken, about 8 to 10 minutes.

- Enjoy!
